On June 15, 1927, Ambrosio Saporiti founded SAPORITI in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a representative of JW BUSH & CO LTD, a flavor manufacturer.

The global financial crisis of 1930 took place. Within this context, Ambrosio Saporiti traveled to London and arranged financial assistance with Mr. Bush. This made it possible to survive the crisis and shaped the company’s culture.

Saporiti implemented bonuses for good results among its employees, an innovative policy at the time.

Ambrosio Saporiti traveled through several countries in Central and South America as a traveling agent for JW BUSH.

The first branch opened in Uruguay.

The Rosario branch opened.

The company’s own offices and warehouses were built at Bartolomé Mitre 2364 in Buenos Aires.

The Córdoba branch opened.

Construction began on the company’s first industrial plant in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Saporiti inaugurated its first industrial plant.
The Group hired its first flavorist, Engineer Bohem, a Czechoslovakian who had endured concentration camps during World War II and later fled Czech communism for Argentina.

Saporiti collaborated with LA VASCONGADA in developing Argentina’s first line of flavored yogurts. It achieved great commercial success and became a highly significant milestone.

Manufacturing of natural cochineal colors began in Argentina.

The Tucumán branch opened.

Ambrosio Saporiti donated part of his shares to a group of executives who had accompanied him since the company’s beginnings, in recognition of their commitment to the Company.

High-speed mixing equipment was installed, beginning the production of dispersed powder flavors.

Production of natural colors was expanded through a milling process.

Investment in technology and machinery increased, and the first spray-drying unit was incorporated.

Saporiti S.A. inaugurated its second industrial plant in Pilar, Province of Buenos Aires, and installed its second spray-drying unit.

The company began developing the capacity to emulate customers’ production processes at laboratory scale through the creation of application laboratories.

A new Flavors Division was established with the arrival of Mr. Roque Basilio, a renowned flavorist in the region.

The application laboratory at the Pilar Plant in Argentina was expanded.

The Quality Management Department was created, with a Quality Control and Assurance Laboratory.

Grupo Saporiti began its journey in Latin America: it committed to regional markets and opened its first office and production plant in Brazil. SAPORITI DO BRASIL LTDA. has a Mixing Plant, a Flavor Development Department, and an Applications Department, and began its operations by manufacturing Whipping Agents.

Nutrial S.A., a Grupo Saporiti company focused on the market of small businesses in the food sector, was created.

CREATION OF THE TECHNOLOGY LIAISON DIVISION: Grupo Saporiti created a department with the purpose of bringing science and Industry together. During its first years, it focused on establishing numerous agreements with universities, government agencies, the Ministry of Science and Technology, CONICET, and CIDCA.

SAPORITI organized the CONICET/Saporiti Award for the best scientific work on Food Ingredients.
Saporiti co-founded Programa Empujar, a CSR initiative aimed at training socioeconomically disadvantaged young people to obtain their first job. The Pilar Plant became the site of the first Empujar Center.

First edition of ALIMENTOS Y PROSPERIDAD: Grupo Saporiti organized its first event with the purpose of bringing the scientific and business communities together.

The NATURAL SABORES plant opened in Manaus, Brazil.

An effluent treatment plant was inaugurated at the Pilar Plant in Argentina.

Grupo Saporiti signed agreements with universities and invested in biotechnology and nanotechnology projects.

Grupo Saporiti acquired a percentage of the Uruguayan company L&G, which distributes ingredients for the food industry. This is another step forward in our vision of leading the food ingredients business in Latin America.
